Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Laser Welders Jobshop website and any enquiry, quotation, supply or service arrangement made through it. By accessing the site or instructing work, you agree to the terms below as applied in South Africa.

Website access and acceptable use

This website is provided for general information about our laser welding services, workshop capacity and contact details. You may browse, request a quotation, submit drawings or send photographs of parts for assessment, but you may not use the site in a way that disrupts operations, copies content without permission, or attempts unauthorised access to systems or files.

You are responsible for ensuring that any information you send is accurate and complete. If you forward measurements, material details, tolerances or images for review, we will rely on that information when preparing a quotation or advising on suitability. We reserve the right to decline any request that cannot be handled safely, lawfully or within our workshop capability.

Quotations, pricing and validity periods

All quotations are based on the information supplied by the client and may change if the part condition, material grade, crack length, distortion, contamination or quantity differs from the description provided. Unless stated otherwise in writing, quotations remain valid for 7 days from the date of issue. Prices are quoted in South African Rand and may exclude packaging, collection, delivery, courier charges, testing, consumables and VAT where applicable.

  • Urgent work, after-hours work and weekend handling may carry additional charges.
  • Estimates for restoration work are provisional until the part has been inspected in person.
  • Batch jobshop welding may be priced per item, per metre, or as a project rate.

Client materials and job instructions

Where you supply parts for precision laser welding, repair, crack repair, edge build up, mould and die work or thin section welding, you warrant that you have the right to submit the material and that it is free from hidden hazards. This includes coatings, oils, trapped gases, residue, pressurised components and contamination that could affect the process. We may request written instructions before starting any work and may pause a job if the condition of the item changes.

We take care with stainless repairs, aluminium repairs, prototype joining and part restoration, but metal movement, finish variation and heat-affected changes can still occur. If a job requires exact cosmetic matching, heat treatment, machining or final fitting, this must be agreed before work begins. A missing specification may delay completion and in some cases the item may need to be returned for further preparation.

Turnaround, collections and courier handling

Turnaround times are estimates only and depend on workload, material availability, complexity and whether the job is handled through our Centurion workshop, Pretoria East support, Midrand collections, Rosslyn manufacturing, Jet Park service point or nationwide courier network. Load-shedding, courier delays, public holidays and municipal access restrictions may affect timing, especially for urgent or high-value parts.

  • Collected items should be checked on handover and signed for where required.
  • Couriers are used at the client’s risk unless insurance is arranged in writing.
  • We are not liable for delays caused by third-party transport providers.

If you need a specific deadline, tell us before the job is accepted. We will advise whether the work can be completed in time and if not, we may suggest a later delivery window.

Payments, ownership and release of work

Unless otherwise agreed, payment terms require settlement before release of completed work. For account clients, terms may be granted in writing and may be withdrawn if payment is late. We retain ownership of completed work and any related materials until all amounts due have been paid in full. Any storage beyond the agreed collection date may attract reasonable holding charges.

If payment is reversed, disputed without cause or delayed beyond the agreed terms, we may suspend further work, withhold release of items and recover collection or legal costs where permitted by law. Receipts and invoices should be checked carefully on issue.

Warranty limits and liability

We stand by the workmanship we supply, but welding and repair work on precision parts carries inherent risk. Unless a separate written warranty is issued, our liability is limited to the value of the specific job performed. We do not accept liability for indirect loss, production downtime, loss of profit, consequential damage or failure caused by pre-existing defects, incorrect use, unsuitable material, hidden corrosion or improper installation after collection.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law. If a complaint is raised, we may ask to inspect the item, review the process record and assess whether corrective action is practical. In some cases a rework, partial credit or refusal of the claim may be appropriate.

Information use, law and contact details

Personal information provided through this website or by email is handled for quotation, administration, workshop coordination and client service purposes. We may keep job records for reasonable business and legal requirements. By submitting a form or email, you consent to us using the details you provide to respond to your enquiry and manage the related work.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from the website or our services may be referred to the competent court in South Africa. For questions about these terms or a specific job, use our contact form. Operator: Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd.
