Quote Request Guide

A clear enquiry saves time and gets you a more accurate quote first time. Here is what to include when you send us a laser welding request for job-shop work in Centurion, Pretoria and nationwide.

Quote Request Guide

Start With The Part And The Problem

Tell us what the item is, what it does, and what has gone wrong. A cracked mould insert, worn edge, broken stainless bracket or aluminium part with porosity all need different handling, so the more detail you give the better we can assess the job.

Include the part material if you know it, plus whether the item is a one-off repair, a prototype, or a batch of identical parts. If the component is still in service, say how urgently it is needed and whether you have a spare on site. That helps us judge the repair window and whether collections in Centurion, Midrand or Jet Park make sense.

Send Clear Photos And Measurements

Good photos save back and forth. Take pictures in daylight or bright workshop light, and include a close-up of the damage plus one wider shot so we can see the full component. If the part is small, place a ruler or coin next to it for scale.

  • Front, back and side views
  • Close-up of cracks, worn edges or missing material
  • Any stamped numbers, drawings or markings
  • Length, width, thickness and hole sizes
  • Area that must be kept clear after welding

If you only send one blurry photo, pricing is usually slower and less accurate. A few clear images mean we can judge access, heat sensitivity and whether build-up work is needed before finishing.

Tell Us What Finish And Tolerance You Need

Laser welding is often chosen because the repair must be precise. Say whether the finished area must be ground flush, left as-welded, machined later, or kept to a tight fit. If the part mates with another component, mention the clearance or tolerance required.

This is especially important for mould and die work, thin section welding and part restoration. A repair that looks fine by eye can still fail if the dimensions are out by even a fraction. If you have a sample part for comparison, say so. That is often the fastest way to avoid rework and extra cost.

Mention Material, Heat Sensitivity And Previous Repairs

Different metals react differently, and previous repairs can change how the job should be handled. Let us know if the item is stainless steel, aluminium or another metal, and whether it has been welded, brazed or filled before. Old repair areas may need extra preparation.

If the part has seals, bearings, springs, coatings or heat sensitive sections, point that out early. In some cases we can work on the damaged area only, but in other cases nearby components may need to be removed first. On small precision work it is better to say too much than too little, because a missed detail can affect the whole quote.

State Quantity, Location And Timing

For batch jobshop welding, tell us how many parts you have and whether they are all the same. If quantities vary, give a best estimate and note whether more units may follow. That helps us plan workshop time and handling.

Also include your location, collection preference and deadline. We handle work in Centurion, Pretoria East, Rosslyn, Midrand, Jet Park and nationwide by courier. If the job is urgent, say whether it is for shutdown maintenance, production recovery or a scheduled fitment date. In Gauteng traffic or during load-shedding, timing details matter more than people think.

  • Single repair or batch quantity
  • Town or site location
  • Courier, collection or delivery preference
  • Required turnaround date
  • Any shutdown or production deadline

What To Attach Before You Request Pricing

The best quote requests usually include the basic facts in one message, with attachments in the same message. If you have a sketch, drawing or sample image, add it. If there is a purchase order number, job number or internal reference, send that too so we can keep track of the work properly.

For larger jobs, please note if site access is limited, if the part is heavy, or if there are municipal or plant safety rules to follow. That is especially useful for manufacturing sites, workshops and repair depots where collection or handover must be planned around operating hours. Clear admin up front reduces delays later and makes the job easier to schedule.

Use This Simple Enquiry Checklist

If you want a fast, practical response, use this short checklist before you send your quote request. It works for one-off repairs and repeat production work alike.

  • What the part is and what it does
  • What damage needs repair or build-up
  • Material type, if known
  • Dimensions, photos and any drawing
  • Finish, tolerance or fit requirement
  • Quantity and whether more units may follow
  • Location, collection point and deadline
  • Any previous repairs, coatings or heat sensitive areas

With these details, we can assess the job properly and give you pricing that is clearer from the start. If something is not known, send what you do have and we will work from there.

For enquiries, send a message through our contact form and include as much of the checklist as you can. A complete request usually means fewer questions, quicker feedback and a cleaner repair plan.

Questions we get asked

What details help you price a laser welding job faster?

Photos, measurements, material type, quantity, location and the type of damage are the main items. If you also include the finish required and any deadline, pricing is usually much quicker.

Can I send one damaged part and ask for a batch quote later?

Yes. Send the single part details first so we can assess the repair method. If you later have more units, we can adjust the quote for batch work.

Do you collect parts in Gauteng and work nationwide?

Yes. We handle workshop jobs from Centurion, Pretoria East, Midrand, Rosslyn and Jet Park, and we also take couriered work nationwide.
